Out on Location Researching areas to Film

These buildings emit so much light
While at the Barbican, we went to the balcony and were surprised by the space of the area and how amazing the skyline looked from the buildings. We thought by having our artist here singing for one of the base tracks with the backdrop of the skyline would look terrific. Also, the space and the openness at the balcony is huge and we thought we can use this to our advantage because we can have her singing while walking around the balcony. Especially around when it gets dark because the lights from the building emit there lights, which look, like a scene from a fairy tale.

I think that lighting will be very effective in our music video so we saw quite a lot of places in the Barbican Centre and outside of the Barbican where there are lots of different colours of lighting. Here we saw this lighting that looks like a vortex. We really liked how this looked because it had different multi colours being emitted and we thought that visually it would look fantastic. The colours could reflect her feeling like the blue shows she’s calm but the red show a conflicting emotion – anger, frustration.

Here, outside of the Museum of London, we saw this place where there was this great blue lighting effect was being emitted. We really found this amazing because it visually look brilliant. We thought about having a low angle shot of our artist just focusing on her and the ceiling where the nice blue lighting is being emitted.

We also saw this passageway inside the Barbican Centre where this bright light shined over. It really had some Biblical connotation, which I found really mesmerising because it felt like an angel was looking after you. It also looked really good because the light would shine over our artist, creating this glow over her – making herself look and feel special, making her stand out from the crowd.
