Out on Barbican Location Researching areas to Film

In the Barbican Centre, there’s an emphasis on the vibrancy of life through plantation. We saw palm tress at the lake location and it looks really amazing because it feels a place where you can be safe, reflecting back onto the lyrics of the song, wanting to find who she really is, by staying at a place that she feels comfortable. It’s important that we choose areas where the environment of the place reflects, contrast our artist, the lyrics or amplifies it. Also what’s interesting about this location is the feeling of isolation because it feels unconnected with the world, by having these huge foreign trees and having a waterfall, it feels you have been transported to somewhere else.

Here is an image that we took of a bed of flowers because we thought about having our artist lying on top of it singing. The flower we thought would connote the love that she felt before she lost herself (reflecting to the lyrics), and how she is longing to find herself again. We also thought about when we are editing this scene, of blurring the background, so the colourful flowers and the green grass emerges together creating a distorted look of the background showing her state of mind.
