Matte 8 point garbage

In Tuesdays lesson we were playing around with some of our footage. We really wanted to do one of those scenes where the artist/actor is standing still and the walking people round them are sped up. At first we just sped up the whole clip, putting it at a speed of 500, but it just didn't look professional enough. To try and improve it we added a blur but it blurred the whole picture including the artist which is not the effect we were aiming for. While seeking for some help Rebecca told us about a filter called 8 point guard, however she didn't know how to use it so we searched the internet, and fond a youtube video which halfway through said we needed to start again as they had gone wrong.

Marisa the technician came and showed us how t use the effect. It allowed us to crop the singer and place that on top of the identical track while speeding that one up. This allowed the subject tobe at a normal speed while everything around her as moving faster.

And after doing that we had to render it which took looooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooong (thats the most boring part of the editing process)

However after putting the subject on top of the other clip we noticed that you can see parts of movement behind her if you didn't crop it close enough. Some peoples legs were chopped off and then came back on the screen which looked quite strange.
