Friday 11 November 2011 lesson

On today’s lesson, all of us were concerned about how incomplete our music video was because we didn’t have a solid ending. Our teacher Annabel sat down with us and explained how we should overcome this problem. She told us that it would be a very good idea if we were to film an extra 4 base tracks and emphasise the performance from our artist ‘Yumi’, so if the lyrics are soft and slow, she should emulate that, and if the lyrics start to become powerful, then she has to emulate that side of the performance. Annabel also stressed that we should record each of the base tracks in different styles of camera shots: extreme close up, close up, medium close up, long shots etc. This will allow us to create a music video that has many variety of different kind of shots making the video look more appealing and enjoyable to watch.

We all agreed that we should start filming on Monday 14th November. During lesson, we had to choose where our location for filming should commence. We all unanimously agreed that we should film at the Barbican because they have lots of different locations and setting that would compliment our music video, amplifying (Andrew Goodwin’s theory) another meaning to the song.

As a group, we agreed that Kyle and Ahmed should, at today’s lesson, should visit the Barbican centre and the area around it and find good locations where we should film. Kyle and Ahmed did find some amazing places where we thought we should film, we took pictures of the places where we should film and blogged about why we think these areas would be perfect for filming our music video.
