Editing: Images of Jump Cuts

During our time at workshop, we decided to just experiment and see if we can achieve our aim in having multiple jump cuts during the end of the song where she Jessie J starts to speed up her lyrics to the beat by one phrase at a time. In this scene, we decided to have our artist in the backdrop of a park to contrast her feeling of how lost she is. We made sure to have he camera fixed at one position during this jump cut recording or otherwise the illusion of ‘Yumi’ going from one pace to another will be lost. This process of us experimenting and seeing if this can be achieved was really helpful as we got a better understanding of how it can be done and seeing the consistency of the footages for the jump cuts. 

It was important of having ‘Yumi’ in different positions and gesture to add onto the jump cut editing and to show how her state of mind – jumping from one place to another.
