Music videos are like a short movie in a way because it tells a story of something. Music videos are a way for artists to advertise themselves to the world with close ups on the face so the video is showing the artist face and image.
A good example of this is Lady Gaga she came out to the global audience with her single 'Just dance' in 2008. This song featured Akon which made this song and video even more popular.
