Mulvey has looked deeply into the representation that the media holds, such as the allocated roles that people have within the world generally. Her theory ,
"In a world ordered by sexual imbalance, pleasure in looking has been split between active/male and passive/female. The determining male gaze projects its fantasy onto the female figure which is styles accordingly"
To put it into a simple way, one of my peers sweetly put it as " In a world of stereotypical sexism, male and female representation is divided between dominance of male and sexualisation of male. Male fantasies are projected onto females who dress to fit these fantasies"
The gender roles are "imbalanced" there is no equality thus there is the dominance of male within the media institution.
Both these two video's show how women are portrayed, and reinforces Vernalli's concept on the imbalancement of of the female and Male's.
